The eight lettered switches, in two rows of four. What they do depends entirely on the mode you are in.

Worth knowingThe letters are printed to the right of each cap, not above it. In a dark room the LED above the switch is the thing to read, not the letter.
It has eleven footswitches, and they all turn
Count the switches in any product shot and you get eight — A to H, in two tidy rows. There are three more. BANK DOWN sits at the right-hand end of the A–D row and TEMPO at the end of the E–H row, which makes them read as part of the rows rather than as separate controls. BANK UP is raised up beside the screen on its own, where it reads as trim.
And every one of the eleven is a rotary encoder. They turn as well as press. Nothing on the chassis says so and no photograph can show it, which is why the diagram above draws a rotation arc on each cap.
