Controls and footswitches

Every control on the HX Stomp XL, on a diagram you can click. Pick anything to see what it does — including the gestures nothing on the chassis tells you about.

FS1 – FS6

Six stomp switches in two rows of three, plus a dedicated MODE switch and TAP/TUNER. In Preset mode the middle four become A, B, C and D.

Press, in Stomp mode: Toggles the effects assigned to that switch.
Press, in Preset mode: Selects preset A, B, C or D.
Touch, without pressing: Assigns the switch to the currently selected block.
Touch repeatedly: Cycles through multiple assigned items.
Touch and hold two switches: Swaps their assignments.

Worth knowingUnlike the small HX Stomp, tap tempo has its own switch. All six of these are genuinely yours.

Some of these are printed on the box. The rest are in the manual, or nowhere, and they are the difference between owning this device and being able to use it.

HOME + ACTION

Save the preset. There is no save button.

The most important gesture on the device and the least visible.
