Controls and footswitches

Every control on the HX One, on a diagram you can click. Pick anything to see what it does — including the gestures nothing on the chassis tells you about.

EFFECT knob

The centre knob, and the main control on the device. Turn it and you are choosing an effect, not a parameter.

Turn
Selects an effect within the current category.

Press and turn
Jumps between effect categories — delay, reverb, pitch, filter and the rest.

Opens the effect list for the current category.

Worth knowingPress-and-turn for category is the gesture that makes this device usable. Without it you scroll one effect at a time through a very long list.

The things you have to be told

Some of these are printed on the box. The rest are in the manual, or nowhere, and they are the difference between owning this device and being able to use it.

Press and hold TAP | FLUX

Toggles the switch between tap tempo (red) and FLUX (white).

The single most important gesture on the pedal, and it is invisible.

Press ON + TAP together

Opens the Preset List. ON scrolls up, TAP scrolls down.

Press and hold a parameter knob

Assigns that parameter to FLUX or an expression pedal.
