Troubleshooting

Indexed by what you notice, not by what the subsystem is called — because when something is wrong you know there's no sound, not that it's a routing problem.

6 of the 8 problems below are not faults. They are documented behaviour that looks like one, and they are marked working as designed.

My footswitches changed job

A different layout

Working as designed

Layouts reassign all three switches at once. The FM3 boots into Presets; holding the left or right switch moves through banks.

It won't let me add a second amp

The FM3 allows one amp and cab pair

Working as designed

Fractal state this directly. Use channels inside the one Amp block to get four voicings instead — that is the FM3 way.

My aux input stopped working

Input 2 is wired as an FX return

Working as designed

It is one jack pair doing two jobs. Wired as a loop return, it is not an aux input.

There's no quarter-inch on Output 1

Output 1 is XLR only on the FM3

Working as designed

Use Output 2's quarter-inch pair for an amp, or an XLR-to-TS cable from Output 1.

There's hum going into my amp

A ground loop

Use a Humbuster cable from Output 2. On Output 1, use the ground lift switch.

I lost my changes

The preset was never stored

Working as designed

Press STORE. Changing preset with the edited indicator lit discards everything without a prompt.
