What the effect names really are
Fractal name their models with puns, the same as everyone else — and are only sometimes willing to tell you what they are.
Fractal cannot use another maker’s trademark to sell a model of their pedal, so every model gets a new name. “Face Fuzz” is a Fuzz Face; “Griddle Cake” is a Crowther Hot Cake.
Fractal do not publish a complete model decoder. These are the models they explicitly describe in the Blocks Guide — mostly drives, fuzzes and a few delays. The amp models are named in the same style but Fractal make no public statement about what each one is based on, so they are not listed here.
